Ceremonial Anglo-Indian Silver Repoussé Bowl


This is a magnificent Anglo-Indian ceremonial sized bowl decorated with silver repoussé work and inlay onto a copper body, second half 19th century.
The quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding decorated with Hindu deities playing musical instruments and bands of nature-inspired repeating motifs, this bowl would have been made for an important member of the British Raj.
Dimensions: Diameter 34 cm Height 19.5 cm (13 1/4 x 7 3/4 inch)
Weight: 4.03 kg
Condition: There are some minor losses to the applied silver decoration though all the figures are intact. Two of the figures are a little compressed but there are no dings to the body itself.
