This vintage powder compact is suitable for use with modern loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.This is an eye-catching fully hallmarked sterling silver powder compact made by R Davis & Co in 1945. As far as we are aware this is the only maker who made sterling silver powder compacts in this style. The lid & base have wonderful guilloche engraving. The mirror is excellent & gives a perfect reflection. The original sifter is in place & it is in very good condition. The compact is in excellent condition - no dings or damage. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. An excellent solid silver vanity that would make an elegant gift. Measures 10 cm & it weighs 83.9 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
