2 x Victorian Silver Specimen Vases, B'ham, 1900
This is a stylish pair of small late Victorian Sterling Silver Specimen Vases. The vases have circular bases with short stems and slender tapered bodies.
These vases would look beautiful with one or two small flowers in each on a dressing table, on bedside cabinets, on a desk, on breakfast trays or simply on a small shelf.
The vases were made in Birmingham by renowned silversmiths Deakin & Francis and date to 1900. Deakin & Francis have a proud history as silversmiths and jewellers dating back to 1786. The firm is still run by members of the Deakin family today. They are England's oldest manufacturing jewellers and still working from the same building that they started in back in the 18th century.
Condition is very good with just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after over 120 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each vase stands 11.5cm / 4.5ins high and is 4.7cm / 1.8ins in diameter across the base. The pair together weigh in at a respectable 59.6g / 2.1oz of soilid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks on the bases are nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter a for 1900 and the D & F makers' mark for Deakin & Francis.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
