Vintage solid silver compact mirrors MAYAN CALENDAR MEXICAN
A fully hallmarked sterling silver Mexican compact mirror c.1950. The lid has been engraved with the most wonderful imagery we associate with this culture. The whole compact is in very good condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives a good clear reflection - a couple of age spots on the mirror but nothing that detracts from this eye-catching mid century antique. The powder well is decorated with engraved over lapping circles. The compact bears these hallmarks 'ARGENTA STERLING MEXICO delineated eagle #4'. The base is smooth silver. Measures just over 8 cm & weighs 86 grams.
