Set twelve Napolean 1 silver knives by Grangeret


A set of twelve Napolean 1st silver and steel table knives,Original blades. Inscribed GRANGERET COUT.DE L'EMPEREUR.(cutler to the emperor).One silver handle with the punch of Pierre-Francois Grangeret which was granted to him in 1805/6.Each silver handle engraved with the coat of arms of a nobleman.
Circa 1807
Condition very good for age and use.
The famous firm of Grangeret were the greatest of cutlers in France and existed from 1735-1834.Pierre-Francois who made these knives was the third of the four generations in the business.
Napolean insisted on Grangeret items and took their cutlery with him to exile. You may return a purchase within 14 days for a refund if you are not happy with it,but you will have to pay the full cost of return postage/carriage.The item must be returned undamaged.
