Here is a good quality antique Regency style cast iron fire grate, circa late 20th century, in good condition.

Here is a good quality antique Regency style cast iron fire grate, circa late 20th century, in good condition, originating from the UK. Benefitting from a freestanding design, the item features a bow fronted basket with horizontal bars for keeping the logs in place. The internal grate can be removed from the basket, allowing for easy cleaning. The top of the fire grate is adorned with a decorative dome-shaped fluted pediment. The grate features solid brass cast finials to either side of the basket. The grate also boasts beautiful flower head detailing beneath the brass finials, and foliate detailing at the base of the basket at the front. The grate rests on curved legs with ornate scroll toes. The item's construction is of cast iron.
The grate is constructed in the style of the Regency period of the early 19th Century.
The grate features an attractive finish, giving it a fantastic colour and appearance. The item's finish and good condition can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This fire grate is in excellent original condition. The item is solidly jointed and robust. Nominal old use marks, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. A hairline split is visible on the back of the basket, but this does not compromise the function or structure of the grate (see photos). The grate features an attractive lacquered finish, giving it a fantastic colour and appearance. This item is reassuringly solid and heavy and is ready to use.
