Mid-Century Silver Plate Table Bell, Yeoman Plate
This is a charming Mid-Century Silver Plate Table Bell. The bell has the classic bell shape with a pierced geometric handle at the top. It has a very sweet ringing tone.
The bell was made in Birmingham by Anstey & Wilson as part of their Yeoman Plate range and dates to between the 1950s and 1970s. The company was founded in Birmingham in the 1890s and specifically manufactured silver plate with Yeoman Plate being their principal trade mark. In more recent times the company became Yeoman of England Ltd, moved to Hertfordshire and became the silver plate supplier to many high end stores such as Harrods, Fortnum & Mason, Liberty, Asprey, Garrard and Historic Royal Palaces.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents, no significant plate loss and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The table bell stands 11.2cm / 4.4ins high and is 8cm / 3.1ins in diameter across the bottom. It weighs in at 114g / 4oz.
The bell is stamped low down with E.P.N.S for silver plate, Made In England and Yeoman Plate.
