Large George V Period Silver Kiddush Cup 1919

Arthur Vandyk Antiques are delighted to offer for sale this fine quality larger sized early 20th century George V period hallmarked sterling silver Kiddush Cup. Ideal for Shabbat and other Jewish festivals, for use in the home or would be an ideal wedding, birthday or anniversary gift.
This fine quality silver cup has a delightful hand engraved palm leaf design, on either side of a large vacant shield cartouche, so can be personalised. The cup is of traditional form with nice crisp hallmarks to the base, a lovely collectable example indeed.
A perfect addition to any fine silver or Judaica collection.
The details are:
Silversmith: J.R (likely to be Joshua Richards)
Assay office: Birmingham
Year of manufacture: 1919
Weight: 62 grams
Height: 13 cm
Diameter: 5.5 cm
Condition report:
In overall good condition for its age, with a crisp set of hallmarks and decoration indicating minimal use. There is a slight knock to the rim evident in the photos and the base is slightly misshapen causing the cup to rock, there are some related scratches and marks some which are deeper plus a slight dent, but is still a presentable, useable example and these imperfections are mainly age related wear and are commonplace with Kiddush cups of this age.
This is a rare and collectable larger Kiddush cup that will look beautiful on display and will look impressive when in use too.
Please see the above photographs as this forms part of the condition report.
