A very sweet fiddle pattern silver spice sifter spoon with pierced bowl with circles and crosses and an attractive family crest of a griffin's head erased with one raised claw. Hallmarked for London 1821, maker William Chawner II. These small sifter spoons were used to sprinkle spices over desserts or hot drinks and are perfect for similar use today.

It measures 11.5cm (4 1/2") long and 3cm (1 3/16") wide and weighs 24g / 0.8ozt.

In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minimal handling wear, the marks and crest are lovely and clear. We are now taking a few days off for Christmas, back on the 5th of January. Wishing all our customers a very Happy Christmas!!
