George III Silver Salt Spoon, W. Eaton, 1817 Georgian Salt Spoon %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A quality George III Sterling Silver Salt Spoon in the traditional Old English pattern with a letter "G" elegantly engraved at the top of the stem. The spoon is made in London by renowned silversmith William Eaton and dates to 1817. William Eaton was a specialist spoonmaker who worked in London between around 1810 and 1845 producing consistently high quality pieces of flatware.

The spoon is in good condition with no dings, dents or salt corrosion and only the superficial wear you would expect on an item that is over 200 years old! Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The spoon is 10.2cm long and weighs 9.1g.

The hallmarks on the underside of the stem are well struck and clear to read. They are the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the London date letter "b" for 1817, the George III duty mark and the WE makers' mark for William Eaton.

Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For.
