This is a very handsome pair of country house bellows from the late Georgian or Victorian period.
They were an essential tool that hung by the hearth in many cottage homes to help start a good fire.

Very well made and in excellent working condition. The elm wood batons have mellowed to a beautiful colour and the old leather is in excellent condition with no holes or damage from wear. It has a sturdy steel nozzle, metal filter plate over the valve and the edges are neatly trimmed with steel nails.
