Edwardian Silver Rose Caddy Spoon, Birmingham 1905
This is a charming Edwardian Sterling Silver Caddy Spoon decorated with roses. The rose pattern curves around the finial and cascades down the stem and into the upper part of the bowl.
The caddy spoon is made in Birmingham by noted silversmiths Levi & Salaman and dates to 1905. Phineas Levi & Joseph Salaman formed their partnership in the mid-1880s producing a very wide range of good quality silver and carried on in business until they were taken over by Barker Brothers in the early 1920s.
Condition of the spoon is very good with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after well over 100 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The caddy spoon is 9.2cm / 3.6" long and 3.5cm / 1.4" across the bowl. It weighs a respectable 13.8g / 0.48oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks on the underside of the stem are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter "f" for 1905 and the L & S makers' mark for Levi & Salaman.
Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For.
