Antique finely decorated Japanese gold lacquer five case Inro in Takamaki-e.
The entire surface is covered with raised Maki-E gold lacquer and decorated with auspicious ritual items, flowers and insects,the work quality is superb,Meiji period, circa 1880.
The insides of the cases covered with Nashiji (gold sparkle) lacquer.

The Inro is signed by the artist in gold and red lacquer - part of the signature reads Kajikawa and the rest I could not make out.

It measures 9.4 cm tall x 4.6 cm wide x 2.7 cm thick

Very good condition for the age,a few tiny losses between parts 2-3 and 4-5 on the side with the hexagon from the bottom and between 1-2,2-3 and 4-5 on the other,there is wear to the edges of top and bottom case edges and some raised areas to the sides.
