Flemish Chandeliers light up All Saints Church, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Antiques Atlas dealer 'Tom Finn of Flemish Chandeliers and French Furniture' (also Victorian Four Poster Beds) supplied All Saints Church in Newcastle 2 very large early 20th Century 18 light flemish chandeliers - one for the main hall and one for the foyer. In addition to 3 smaller 8 light flemish chandeliers for the reading room.
Designed by local architect David Stephenson and completed in 1796, the church has been described by Sir John Betjeman, the former Poet Laureate, as one of the finest Georgian churches in the country and it doesn't disappoint. It forms an integral part of the Newcastle skyline rising above the iconic Tyne Bridge. It is the 7th tallest building in the city which is pretty amazing considering it was built in the late 18th Century !
In 2019, the local congregation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in England and Wales signed a 150-year lease for All Saints.
After a comprehensive restoration project which is just nearing completion, worship and services at All Saints Presbyterian Church began in October, 2019.
As you approach the building you climb the steps to an entrance flanked by 4 pillars in the classical greek style . The Georgian period doorway has a lunette (little moon) window above the front door which leads into the vestibule. On entering this you are greeted by a fantastic marble floor with a stunning 18 light flemish chandelier directly above, hung from a domed ceiling over 100 feet high.
Moving into the main hall, two huge lighting rings are used to illuminate the room, each one has been updated to the latest led light technology with the 2nd 18 light flemish chandelier hung from the centre to give it a period centrepiece.
This is a fantastic building and these chandeliers are totally in keeping with it's Georgian period. It's a great example of how flemish chandeliers can complement modern lighting in a period setting.

Flemish Chandeliers in a Contemporary Modern Setting

This is a great example of mixing the old with the new. In this instance a modern kitchen was designed in a period house. To add period character a pair of flemish chandeliers were installed. Finished in nickel silver, the chandeliers give the period look and being in silver the modern touch. Both complementing and adding to the modern look of the kitchen.
"I just wanted to write to say that we received the chandeliers safe and sound and we are absolutely delighted with them. They look utterly magnificent in our new kitchen and really make the room very special. They really could not be a better fit and we are extremely pleased.
Thanks again for all your help in getting them ready and delivered to us down here in Somerset!"
Kind regards, Harriet. Somerset

Flemish Chandelier adorning an Upstairs Hallway

An enquiry came in for a large 2 tier chandelier to grace a stairwell in a large Victorian House. On the day of delivery the dealer was amazed to find several flemish chandeliers hanging in the hallway. Clearly these people liked their flemish chandliers. It turned out that the previous owners had taken the chandelier from the stairwell, but all sorted now.
"Evening Tom. I told you I'd get it up there! We tackled the tough one first so the sitting room is still to follow, but that should be simple after this one. It looks absolutely fantastic - I'll send you some proper photos when I get the other one up but for now, here's one to be going on with. Thanks so much. It's a real treasure and I hope you're happy it found it's home with us." Phil, Yorkshire.

Flemish Chandelier adorning a Golf Club Reception.

Apparently the interior designer was adamant the client wanted a repolished chandelier for this reception area at a golf course in Scotland. Rather than strip down and repolish, in this instance the dealer believed he had the perfect chandelier, it was unpolished but had retained it's deep orignal brass patination that it had acquired over it's lifetime. By not stripping it, it was a quality chandelier that hadn't lost any of it's character and in the end the client and interior designer were highly delighted with it.

Chandeliers set in a period 15th Century House.

The client had originally bought 4 modern crystal chandeliers from china, but when they were up, he hated them. Instead he chose
4 matching period flemish chandeliers for the main living room - library which complemented his fabulous house dating from the 15th century in the Cotswolds.
"Lucy and I love the new Chandeliers which have transformed the Library wonderfully" Martin, Cotswolds.

Large 16 light Flemish Chandelier at Dunham Massey Country House

I noticed this very large flemish chandelier on a visit to Dunham Massey.
It was in one of the rooms housing an unusual exhibition of paintings in distorted frames hung on Easels each one tilting looking down at the viewer. A clever and innovative exhibition in it's own right.
This large 16 light triple ball flemish chandelier is a great example of the flemish chandelier in action in a period setting. With such a tall ceiling it is hung on a whopping chain. The chandelier is sympathetic to the setting, blends into the room and doesn't dominate or date it.
Dunham Massey Hall and Park is one of the UK's most popular National Trust properties, located in Trafford, Greater Manchester. Dunham Massey is a Georgian Mansion surrounded by Dunham Park. The Hall was built in 1616 by sir John Booth. The hall was donated to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th and last Earl of Stamford in 1976. The hall and grounds are open to the public and are a popular tourist attraction.
