Samson Paris Rockingham Marked Display Plate c1835 Samson Paris Display Plate Rockingham Display plate Reference piece
We have for sale the perfect addition to a Rockingham or Samson collection, a rather hard to find and quite lovely Samson Paris Rockingham marked display plate dating to around the early to mid 19th century.

This very attractive plate is decorated with an orange and gilt lobed border with a central basket of flowers surrounded by 3 flower sprays. The base is marked with the brown Rockingham mark used by the Paris porcelain manufacturer Samson as described in the book "Rockingham Pottery & Porcelain 1745-1842" by Alwyn and Angela Cox, page 231.

The plate is 10.25 inches in diameter and is in an excellent condition virtually no surface wear, however there is a small chip to the footrim almost directly beneath the Samson brown Rockingham mark. This plate the perfect reference piece for any collector of Rockingham or Samson porcelain.
