This Royal Worcester cup and saucer is hand painted with a pink and white roses design known as "Spilsbury roses".
The painting is unsigned.

Both pieces carry the early puce colour backstamp, the saucer with the date code for 1917, the cup for 918.

The cup measures 8.5 cm (3.4") in diameter across the top (excluding handle) by 5.7 cm (2.3") tall. The saucer measures 14 cm (5.5") in diameter. All measurements are approximate.

Both pieces are free from chips, cracks or restoration. Only one small surface scratch to the stem of a the single rose on saucer has been noted.
