Gutte Eriksen (Danish 1918 - 2008)
A rare and exquisite twin handled shallow bowl.
c.1955 - 1965.
Beautifully thrown from richly coloured earthenware and very well potted, this piece is extraordinarily light in the hand.
The sides feature a pair of delicate loop handles whilst the underside is decorated with incised lines radiating from the foot, with a pooled white glaze confined to the recesses.
The interior with a delicious blue-grey-green ash-based glaze.
Fully Signed 'Gutte Denmark' to the base, as shown.
Measures 11.5cms wide (excluding the handles).
A superb example by this highly acclaimed Scandinavian-Modern potter.
A rare bowl and a first-rate addition to any collection and potentially of museum / exhibition interest.
