Fine Early Winchcombe Studio Pottery Painted Bowl
A Good and Early Winchcombe Pottery Brush Painted Bowl.
Hand-thrown from the local red clay, this well-potted bowl features a bright yellow-ochre slip glaze, beneath a beautifully and deftly brush-painted design in iron.
It bears the impressed marks for Winchcombe and also a maker's mark, partially obscured by glaze but safely attributable to either Sidney or Charles Tustin.
Dating to the mid to late 1940's.
Approx 19cms diameter x 9cms high.
Displays beautifully and a first rate example of a brush-decorated piece by one of the Tustin brothers.
