Chinese Ink Stone - Kangxi marks

A fine example of a Chinese Ink Stone, in white ceramic, with calligraphy - a poem that seems to be a lament - picked out in blue. I think it is absolutely gorgeous, and it is in great condition. There is one small blemish on the rim, but this is under the glaze. UV light reveals no signs of restoration.
The ink-well on the top shows it has been well-used, and the old ink that was ready for the calligrapher's brush was probably a deep red but has now faded to brown. There is a water channel surrounding the well.
On the base there is a blue ring mark, for the Kangxi period (1662-1772), that encircles a pair of fish, symbols of good luck and abundance.
This is a genuinely lovely piece and I am really enjoying owning it. I know when it goes I will have sellers remorse.
It is a fabulous decorative element that will just lift anything it sits on or in. I have it in an open corner cupboard and it looks great.
Diameter 14.5 cms x 5cmsH
