Chamberlain's Worcester Scent Bottle View Worcester
Very pretty Chamberlain's Worcester scent bottle with a rich burgundy red ground and large reserve with a painted view of Worcester (named on the reverse). A lovely sunny scene of the river with boats and people walking along the path beside, with the aqueduct and cathedral in the background. Gilded decoration around the edge of the reserve and spilling around the sides of the vase and gilded rim. Printed mark "CHAMBERLAIN'S WORCESTER" c.1840.
It measures 14cm (5 1/2") high and 8cm (3 1/8") wide.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Some rubbing to the gilding at the rim and a little here are there around the vignette. A few very minor scratches to the burgundy ground, mainly to the lower part of the back and minimally detracting. It would have clearly had a porcelain stopper but this has been lost over the years as is often the case. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
