Chamberlain Worcester Spiral Fluted Sucrier c.1800
A lovely Georgian porcelain sugar bowl and cover by Chamberlain's of Worcester with double ribbed spiral fluted moulding and shaped faux ring handles to the side. Finished with a spiral fluted knop to the cover. Broad bands of bright yellow enamel ground decoration the adjoining rims, over painted with geometric bands in orange enamel and gilt. Stylised gilt and orange sprigs are scattered about the rest of the cover and bowl and the rims, knop and side rings all picked out in gilt. Marked inside the cover in gilt script "Chamberlains Worcester Warranted" and pattern number "219". c.1797-1800.
It measures 13.5cm (5 1/4") high, 14.3cm (5 5/8") wide and 10.5cm (4 1/8") deep.
Condition is excellent with no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear to the enamel and gilding. There are a few small erroneous marks inside the bowl, some gilt and some enamel caused during manufacture. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
