A rare and early mortar and pestle of impressive size with a very heavy cast iron mortar and double ended laburnum wood pestle on a 19th century baluster column. 820mm high and 360mm diameter. Mid 17th century. W J Gravener Antiques is a family owned business, started in 1963 by William who was joined by son, Mark in 1981 and continues today with the same ethos of dealing in fine quality English and Continental furniture, mirrors and decorative objects, from the 18th & 19th centuries.
