A very nice George IV, English Sterling Silver Stilton Scoop made by John Bettridge of Birmingham and dating from c1823.
It is hallmarked with the Lion passant sterling silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the maker's mark "IB" for John Bettridge, the Birmingham "anchor" town mark and date letter "Z" for 1823/24.
It measures 8 1/2" inches (213mm) in length.
