A stunning large solid silver desk/pen box by William Comyns. Fully hallmarked on hinged cover and side of base with assay marks for Wiliam Comyns London 1896

Beautifully engraved with Comyns trademark Exotic Birds and Green Man among floral and foliate designs. Sides exquisitely engraved with scrollwork.

Lined with cedar wood with a green leather base.

Measures 16.5 by 7.5 by 3.5cm high - 6 1/2 by 3 by 1 3/8 in. high -

Weight 334g including lining and weighted base.

In excellent condition with no damage or dents or repairs to the silverwork. Wooden lining also in excellent condition. Light wear to leather base.

A superb piece which would look very impressive on someone's desk.
