Silver Plate Mustard Pot, Mappin & Webb

This is a fun Early 20th Century Silver Plate Mustard Pot and Spoon in the shape of an egg. The pot stands on three ball feet and has a hinged lid with a ball finial and a frosted glass liner. The spoon is in the Old English pattern.
The mustard pot was made in Sheffield by world famous silversmiths Mappin & Webb and dates to around the 1900s to 1930s. One of the best known names in English silverware, the firm was originally founded in 1810 by Joseph Mappin Snr. In 1859 the company split into two parts which would become Mappin Brothers and Mappin & Webb. They were reunited when Mappin & Webb bought Mappin Brothers in 1902. The Mappin & Webb brand name remains a byword for quality and style to this day.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents in the pot or the spoon, no chips or cracks in the glass, just a couple of bubbles from the glass blowing, plus the overall superficial surface wear that has to be expected with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The mustard pot is 7cm / 2.75ins high and 4cm / 1.6ins wide and the spoon is 6.7cm / 2.6ins long. All together it weighs 81g / 2.85oz.
The underside of the base is stamped MAPPIN & WEBB.
Shipping in the UK is £6.00 by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
