A Georgian Stick Barometer by Dolland, London
A fine quality Georgian mercury stick barometer by this noted maker Dolland of London. Bookmatched mahogany case veneers. The original cistern cover and brass strap. An architectural pediment with the original brass finial. A well engraved silvered dial with slide adjuster and scale from 27 to 31. Circa 1795.
A near identical example is illustrated on page 75 of Banfields 'Stick or Cistern Barometers' book. The family worked in the 18th and 19th century producing fine barometers.
