Victorian silver sugar sifter, Birmingham 1890
Victorian silver sugar sifter, featuring a geometric pattern pierced bowl, on a ladle shaped handle bearing an albany pattern finial.

The sifter is fully hallmarked for London, 1890, and the makers Thomas Hayes.
All hallmarks are crisp and clear.

Thomas Hayes worked from Spencer Street, Birmingham.
The ladle shaped sifter is 11.7 cm (4.2") long. The pierced bowl is 4 cm (1.6") in diameter and 1 cm (.4") deep. It weighs 21 grams.
All measurements are approximate.

The sifter is in good condition, with light overall scratching commensurate with age. There is also a slight kink in the handle … it has probably been bent and straightened at some point.

Please study all photos as these form an important part of the description.
