Unusual Early Victorian Silver Vesta Case
This is an unusual early Victorian Silver Vesta Case designed as a Matchbox. The Vesta Case has a Family Crest of a Lion & Anchor with initials of EM below and a strike plate at one end, probably made as a one off for a wealthy client.
Made by Silversmith Aston & Son and Hallmarked in the Birmingham Assay Office in 1859 which includes a duty mark.
The Vesta Case weighs 31g and measures 47mm x 27mm x 10mm.
The Vesta Case is in good condition with no damage but some staining from the matches stored within. More images are available including hallmarked date letter K. We offer free insured postage & packing within the U.K.
