The Ashes Test Cricket Series played between England and Australia in 1882. The Series is named after a Satirical Obituary published in The Sporting Times of 1882 by Reginald Brooks, after a match at The Oval when Australia beat England on English soil for the first time.
The Two Captains where Sir Ivo Bligh (1859-1927 - England), and William (Willy) Murdoch (1854-1911 - Australia).
The small cut out copy from The Sporting Times and Hand Coloured Lithograph of Bats, Ball, Stumps and Bail, together with the Autographs of Sir Ivo Bligh and William Murdoch. All mounted onto card.
