Silver Sovereign Case / Purse - 1888 Antique English Sterling %%alt5%%
A charming little Sovereign case or purse made from English sterling silver with all over engraved decoration and a shield shaped cartouche to the front.

The little catch to the front is used to open the hinged purse revealing a wonderful original interior in silk taffeta, the dividers trimmed in leather.

The silver is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1888 together with the makers initials for the silversmith, Hilliard & Thomason.

Excellent condition measuring 2" x 1 1/2" x 1/2".
