Georgian Stick Barometer Punchion Leeds
A late Georgian stick barometer by George Purchion of Leeds. Fine marquetry inlays to the case with the original cistern cover. The original mercury tube to the untouched painted dial with gilt corners. A carved pediment and sides. Circa 1810.

George Purchion of Glass House, Leeds is noted in Banfields 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working around 1820-1840. He remarks that some of his barometers had painted plates.
