George III, English Silver Teapot, London c1816 %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A good quality, antique, George III, English Sterling Silver Teapot made in London by Solomon Hougham and dating from c1816.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "SH" for Solomon Hougham, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head Crowned London town mark and date letter "a" for 1816.
It measures 5 1/4" inches (135mm) in height and 10" inches (260mm) from the handle to the tip of the spout. The weight is 686g/22.2oz
It is in very good condition, if being critical there are some very minor indents and a flat spot to the rim of the base. These minor imperfections of little consequence but mentioned for accuracy of description. Overall a very nice George III, sterling silver teapot.
