A very good quality, Antique, English Silver Gilt Vinaigrette by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham dating from c1837.
The inside of the base is hallmarked with the maker's mark "NM" for Nathaniel Mills, the Birmingham "anchor" town mark and date letter for D for 1837/38. The lid with the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark and maker's mark "NM".
The exterior of the box with engine turned engraving to the lid and bases. The lid with engraved initials.
The vinaigrette measures 37mm x 25mm x 10mm. The weight is 17.6g.
The vinaigrette is in very good overall condition.
A nice vinaigrette by a sought after maker, it would make a lovely addition to any collection.
