C.1850s Valentine & Envelope Valentines Lace Paper Die-cut Scraps %%alt5%%
Victorian Paper Lace Valentine with die-cut windows opening to verse 'My Love'. Open the card to an intaglio of silk birds and flowers. The Envelope is embossed. The Valentine is most certainly English, but purchased in the USA. The first English Valentines were sold in a Card Shop in Massachusetts. The owner being Ester Howland. The envelope is addressed to a Lady in Massachusetts, but the card is un-used. So is just possible that was purchased from Ester Howlands Shop.
