Antique silver Cyma half hunter pocket watch
Antique silver Cyma half hunter pocket watch.
The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement has been identified as by Cyma and it has the calibre number 998 which also confirms the maker. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for Birmingham 1928 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison. The Dennison Watch Case Company was a prolific manufacturer of cases, and supplier to various watch manufacturers.
The case is in good condition, just a small “ding” to the back, nothing too serious at all.
The front cover has a small central lens surrounded by enamel filled Roman numerals.
The winding pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is a glass lens which is in lovely condition.
The dial is in lovely condition. It has the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.
The watch comes in a presentation box from Leeds jewellers Owen & Robinson. The box is tatty but still good to have.
