Antique Bisque-Head Alt, Beck & Gottschalck Doll
This lovely large bisque-head doll dates from the early twentieth century. She has 'ABG 1362 Made in Germany 5' moulded into the back of her head. She has a bisque head with glass sleeping eyes, an open mouth with teeth, and pierced ears with earrings. She has a nine-piece composition body. She has a replacement wig. She is wearing vintage clothes, and more modern pantaloons, socks and shoes.
Condition: Overall in fair condition with some wear and damage consistent with age. She has a broken piece to her forehead that has been restored, and she looks to have undergone some further restoration as well. She has some grubbiness and scuffing to the paintwork of her head including and some glue residue around her wig, which is loose. She would benefit from a careful clean. There is some paint loss to her eyelids. Her wig is dishevelled. Her body has some chipping, cracking and rubbing around the joints and some manufacturing flaws as might be expected. Her clothing is good condition with some wear, grubbiness and discolouration.
