Hans Wegner - Danish furniture designer
Hans Wegner (1914-2007) renowned Danish furniture designer. Contributed greatly to the popularity of mid century design. His style is often described as Organic Functionality. In his time he designed over 500 chairs with over 100 being put into mass production of which many have become design icons. Wegner's designs were made by several manufacturers. Wegner said of his work "I have always wanted to make unexceptional things of an exceptionally high quality". He said "A chair is to have no backside. It should be beautiful from all sides and angles."
