Here we have a fine quality cased Vintage Silver Plate Three Piece Tea Set plus Sugar Tongs. The tea set is of bulbous circular design with the teapot standing on four pad feet and the cream jug and sugar bowl on three pad feet. The sugar tongs have a feather and scroll design along each arm.

The set and tongs were made in Birmingham by the firm Anstey & Wilson as part of their Yeoman Plate range and date to around the 1930s to 1950s. The company was founded in Birmingham in the 1890s and specifically manufactured silver plate with Yeoman Plate being their principal trade mark. In more recent times the company became Yeoman of England Ltd, moved to Hertfordshire and became the silver plate supplier to many high end stores such as Harrods, Fortnum & Mason, Liberty, Asprey, Garrard and Historic Royal Palaces.

Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents, no significant plate loss and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. The box is a little scuffed around the outside edges but overall condition is good with the hinges and clasps all in working order. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The teapot is 22.5cm from spout to handle, 11.7cm across and 13.5cm high. The cream jug is 12.2cm from lip to handle, 9.1cm across and 8cm high. The sugar bowl is 9cm in diameter and 6cm high. The sugar tongs are 10.5cm long. The set all together, unboxed, weighs in at 621g and cased at 1.65kg.

All four items are stamped with EPNS for silver plate, the brand name Yeoman Plate and Made in England.
