A charming marriage of two cultures. A unique and fine piece of antique antique jewellery. I like to think of it as the love token of an Anglo-Chinese couple. Imagine your own back-story.

An engraved circular mother of pearl pendant mounted with a gold, pearl-set star decoration. The eight-pointed elongated star is finely made in unmarked gold and set with 19 graduated pearls. (largest 3mm). It is mounted on a two-layered mother of pearl disc by bolts with screw nuts at the back. The base layer of mother-of-pearl is circular with a delicately carved and pierced outer edge, topped by a layer of six conjoined roundels each themselves pierced and carved. The back is finely engraved with a scene of two figures in a garden with trees and buildings. The pendant is suspended on a bale with an unsealed jump ring attached. Overall size 44x35mm. The pearl and gold is fine 19th century European work, probably English. The mount, on the other hand, is a piece of equally fine Chinese carving and engraving, probably of the same period, but possibly extending to the early 20th Century.
I trade in small silver, jewellery and objets d'art. I sell primarily at antiques fairs and in cabinets in Christique Antique Centre in Dorking. I try to find unusual and interesting stock and like to keep turning it over, so I can buy more. Postage and packing are free within the UK - unless explicitly stated otherwise. All fine jewellery will be supplied with a box. If the box/case is described in the text, it will be the one photographed, but may not be if it is not mentioned explicitly. I keep hardly any stock at home, if you want to buy something and need it urgently, I will usually do it the next day, but it may take me some time to respond if you need extra photographs and/or details about the piece that I do not have to hand, as I typically visit the antiques centre just once a week.
