This is a top quality silver plated left handed Hot Chocolate Pot that dates to around the 1930s. It is the classic Chocolate Pot design with the handle being at right angles to the spout. Because of this design they are made in both right handed and left handed versions and this one is for left handers. It was made for high end retailer Maple & Co by silver plate specialists Oliver & Bower.

Overall condition is very good with no plate loss and just a couple of very tiny dings to the body of pot. The ebonised wood finial and handle are both in good condition with just the most minimal signs of wear. This is certainly a Chocolate Pot that's been used but also well looked after.

The pot is 17.5cm high to the top of the finial, 7.6cm in diameter across the base and the handle extends just under 10cm from the body of the pot to the side. It weighs 379g. It is a 3/4 pint size.

The marks on the base are Maple & Co Ltd, for the retailer. O&B Ltd S for Oliver & Bower Ltd of Sheffield, EPNS for electroplated nickel silver and A1 showing it is the best quality plating.
