A handsome and unusual example of an Edwardian biscuit box or barrel, by the top-notch Sheffield silversmith, Walker and Hall.

The box is made from solid English Oak and all the fittings are made from silver plate. The front has a lovely shaped label engraved biscuits and the lid has a rope finial with another engraved label.

Once the lid is removed, the original ceramic liner is intact.

Being Walker and Hall, there is an date letter incorporated into the mark for the year 1905.

6" in diameter x 6 1/2" to top of rope finial or 9" tall to top of the handle while upright.
