Set of 3 Graduated Dixon Silver-Plate Meat Covers
This lovely set of three silver-plated meat covers look to date from the late nineteeth century and are marked for the maker James Dixon & Sons. They have a nice shaped design with decorative handles. They have a crest on the front featuring a bird atop a pile of rocks with the motto 'Suaviter et Fortiter'. All three covers retain their hanging hooks.
Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some tarnishing and surface scratching as might be expected, and all three of the covers have some denting. The largest cover has some heavier wear to the plating. The handles are a little loose.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Smallest - 19cm high, 30.5cm long, 24cm wide
Largest - 22cm high, 40.5cm long, 32cm wide. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
