Pair of Large Teak & Cane Colonial Planters Chairs

A Handsome Matched Pair of Original Anglo-Indian Teak and Cane Plantation Chairs, circa 1910–1920.
Crafted in solid teak with finely woven cane, these generous colonial lounge chairs offer wonderfully deep, curved seating and continuous original caning for exceptional comfort. Each chair features the classic extending, fold-out leg rests to each side, allowing you to fully recline and “put your feet up” in true planter style.
This is a fine quality early 20th-century model with peg joint construction, beautifully proportioned and superbly made. The robust teak frames are structurally excellent with no looseness, repairs or losses. One chair shows slightly lighter toning to the timber from greater sun exposure, adding authenticity and character this could easily be re-finished to match more closely if desired. Seat height: 43 cm.
Original pairs of Anglo-Indian plantation chairs are increasingly hard to find, especially in such honest, well-preserved condition. Equally at home in a conservatory, on a covered terrace or as striking accent loungers indoors, these chairs are every bit as comfortable as they are stylish, a true statement pair for any interior.
Height 91cm (35.8in)
Width 84cm (33.1in)
Depth 96cm (37.8in)
