A good quality English made Walnut mantel antique clock, dating to the early 20th Century. It has an domed top case, with chequered stringing and satinwood inlay with fretwork side panels lined with red silk . The cast brass bezel has a bevel edge glass with an engraved silvered dial and is signed by the original retailers Spiridon Cardiff . It has an 8 day timepiece ( not striking ) movement with a lever platform and was made by the renown firm of Gillet and Johnston of Croydon.
