This is a fabulous double French oak armoire. It dates to the 1920s up to the 1960s. It is solid oak so not light or flimsy, but has the major advantage of being a knock down so breaks down into much smaller parts to get up and down stairs. The armoire has two large doors with geometric mouldings which give it a classic look. The doors open onto a large hanging space which can cope with longer clothing without crumpling it up. Below the doors there are two drawers and above the hanging space is a beautifully shaped cornice. Its a great thing. It has been painted a slate blue/grey/white in a matte finish and this suits it perfectly.

The armoire is in good order. It stands well and level and has no wobbles. The doors are well attached when constructed and open and close as they should. The drawers also slide as they should. The wood is in good order and the finish is good.

This is a knock down item, the French are great at these. It will arrive as a base with drawers, a cornice, 2 side panels, 4 back panels plus a center bar and 2 doors. Plus 4 screw in bolts which hold it together. It is simple to put up and takes 10-15 mins. It is easy but you will need 2 people to put the top on, it’s too wide for one person to slot both sides into place at once. The whole thing slots together into groves and pegs and is then secured by the 4 bolts. I will send instructions because if it’s done in the right order it’s a piece of cake. Once up and the bolts are in place it’s pretty much bomb proof.

The armoire measures 183cm wide x 68cm deep x 234cm tall when erected.
