Christopher Dresser Arts and Crafts Anglo Japanese Silvered Tea Service.
An Arts and Crafts Anglo Japanese silvered matching tea service on tray in the style of Dr Christopher Dresser c1880.
A highly unusual and futuristic geometric design with sliced globe shaped bodies finely engraved with Japanese style flying cranes and botanical flowers with simulated bamboo style handles by the Levi & Salaman Company of Birmingham.
The quality and execution is sublime and the style epitomises late Victorian avant-garde Anglo Japanese design which clearly reflects Dresser's ethos and influences.
In superb original condition, the service consists of tray, tea pot, milk jug and sugar basin.
Date: Circa 1880.
Condition: In superb original condition.
Markings: Stamped The Potosi Co London to the teapot and tray.
Weight: 1.155 kg.
