A wonderful antique English cakestand, made from English silver plate, beautiful quality.

Most unusual and highly sought-after to find one with the three square plates or trays, they are usually circular or oval.

The top plate is engraved with the initial "C" and dated 1918, making this a true antique example. The stand is fully marked by the maker for Watson and Gillot of Sheffield. A partnership of William Watson and Herbert Gillott established in 1896. Cutlery manufacturers active at 23 Furnival St, (1897-1899) and Caledonia Plate Works 26 Eyre Lane, Sheffield (1900-1940).

Excellent condition, the frame measuring 8" wide x 6 1/2" deep, foot to foot x 17" tall with each tray measuring 6 1/2" x 6 1/2".
