Very Interesting & Unusual Theme
A woman dressed in mourning attire and a man conversing in the middle of a deserted village street.
We can see the church tower on the left while on the foreground are two erect structures,
that appear to be tombstones.
Allegorical Subject of life and death I believe.
It is delightfully painted with spontaneous brushstrokes and the colour scheme
and composition make this not very large painting appeal to the distant viewer
but also inspires the desire to be examined closely.

44 x 28.5 visible panel
Condition:
Condition of the picture is very good for age, with superficial dust and dirt.
Frame appears to have been recently restored and re gilded.
