A petite and elegant fully hallmarked 15 carat gold heart shaped locket which was crafted in the Edwardian era.

This solid gold locket pendant was assayed (tested for gold purity) at Chester Assay Office in 1909.

The exterior surfaces are engraved with forget-me-not flowers, ivy and acanthus leaves.

An initialed shield cartouche graces the posterior surface.

The first letter is so ornate that the inscription could be read as anyone of the following combinations J M / F M / T M.

The shield cartouche symbolises the desire to protect.

Forget-me-not flowers symbolise deep love and respect.

The depiction of ivy represents everlasting love, fidelity, devotion and loyalty.

Acanthus leaves represent the desire for longevity.

The original 15 carat gold frames, pale green material and clear portrait protectors are present.

The hinge and catch work perfectly.

This dainty high quality locket is suspended from an elegant 18 inch gold necklace.
