19th Century Stoneware Jug of Napoleon Bonaparte
19th century stoneware jug depicting Napoleon Bonaparte made in Lambeth London by Stephen Green, This is a rare larger size and highly collectable salt glaze / stoneware jug - made by Stephen Green of the Imperial Pottery in Lambeth, London.
It is a large size for display measuring 7.5 inches in height
The jug, is formed as a bust of the French Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte wearing his bicorn hat - with a French cockade on the front. The handle is also of note having been modelled as French Imperial Eagle.
The base is impressed with a cartouche containing the name "Stephen Green",
The jug dates to circa 1850, it is in good condition, there is restoration to the spout but the piece still stands up as a great addition to any collection ( It's a very old restoration, certainly not using modern materials, however it is honest) The piece is in this size is now quite rare and can command premium prices, however we have taken into account the condition and valued the piece appropriately making it fair and reasonable
